This collection represents a series of my dreams that reflect my experiences in Asia, which are depicted through the images and symbols in the works.

The dreams and therefore the collection is inspired by my travels, experiences of daily life, culture, history, and natural surroundings. These include the colours, patterns, and representations of mythological creatures.

The circular representations allow for a change of point of view and thus avoiding a definition of conventional perspective. There is no beginning nor end. Each is its own dream. There are elements of each painting in one of the others, symbolizing the common link; the flow of the subconscious from one dream to another.

My goal as an artist is to create something contemporary that tells its own story. I hope to portray some of the beauty in Asian life and open up space for narratives about Asian culture.

I spent several years living in South Korea and saw much of the country and parts often not seen by outsiders. During this time time there I was also fortunate enough to travel to Singapore, Japan, Hong Kong, Vietnam, the Philippines, China, Thailand, Malaysia, Taiwan and all over South Korea. South Korea particularly impacted my art because it became a part of who I am.
