Through my career as a biologist and macro-photographer I developed a deep appreciation of nature and natural history. I have always been fascinated by the structure and fine detail of all things natural, but especially by subjects that are past their prime. Nature’s changing colours further deepen my attraction for her. As a contemporary botanical artist, I try to connect the viewer with the beauty and overlooked details of common things in our gardens often in unusual perspectives. The luminosity of watercolour makes this my preferred medium.
