Tracey Purkis

My inspirations come from my love of the natural environment with a lasting fascination, going back to my childhood of our feathered friends. A deep family connection of flower growing holds a special place for me and I believe building painting compositions is my own personal way of creating a garden. I graduated from Visual Communication Design in Wellington and designed the NZ Stamp issue based on National Parks. I have travelled and lived overseas for many years in the UK, Kenya and Brunei, both as an Art teacher and Artist discovering a desire to capture my experiences on canvas. Returning home to beautiful New Zealand, I'm excited to focus on discovering the hidden treasures revealed in the light and shadows
with new stories to tell.
