Karen Gourley is an Artist born in Northern Ireland and now based in Christchurch. Her artwork is focused on depicting wildlife in realistically vibrant detail, typically through the medium of soft pastels. Her intention is for viewers to experience the creatures emotionally and find comfort in their grace, beauty and playfulness. In addition to providing a captivating display of colour, she strives to make her pieces showcase overlooked elements of nature - from feathers' detailed textures to fleeting close-ups with animals.
