Mike Wilson

As a photographer, I endeavour to capture the beauty of nature in Aotearoa New Zealand and around the world.

Photography has always been a part of my life. My first camera as an 8 year-old was a small Kodak Instamatic. A camera was also never far away when I later worked as a teacher of physics and general science. And of course, I’ve always taken photos of my own family.

This passion for photography morphed into a family photography business. However, in recent years I have focussed on bird photography as I am keen to make a contribution to conservation.

When I’m not taking photos, I can be found working in the garden, cycling, roasting my own coffee beans, enjoying a good coffee or playing guitar.
