Be Kind Series

As I carried on with my Mask series, I began to pull inspiration from famous paintings and modernising them into 2021.

And so, this is my version of “A Girl with a Pearl Earring” the infamous 1665 oil painting by Johannes Vermeer.  She is dressed in a shirred-bodice, puff-sleeve floral dress, gingham mask with a tag that says “Be Kind” and instead of the shawl from the Dutch painting she has long plaited copper hair.
